AWS Growth Lags Behind Azure and Google Cloud in Q2 2025
Amazon Web Services reported $30.9 billion in Q2 revenue, a 17.5% year-over-year increase, narrowly surpassing analyst expectations of $30.8 billion. Yet, the cloud giant's growth pace pales in comparison to Microsoft Azure's 39% surge to $29.9 billion and Google Cloud's 32% jump to $13.6 billion.
Matt Garman, AWS CEO, maintains Optimism about the division's long-term potential, emphasizing investments in AI-powered tools for enterprises and startups. However, Amazon's stock has only gained 4.5% this year, underperforming the S&P 500's 12% rise. Azure's OpenAI partnership continues to drive momentum, raising questions about AWS's ability to retain cloud dominance.
